- Self taught family researcher since 1989; Professional researcher since 2007.
- Specializing in Kentucky ancestry, including some African American research.
- 1998 became an active member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution after successfully researching my lineage back to a Revolutionary War patriot ancestor.
- 2004 hired as a reviewing Staff Genealogist at the National Headquarters of a leading male lineage organization.
- 2007 became a member of the National Genealogical Society.
- 2010 started writing about my genealogy research, both past and present, at my blog "The Sum of All My Research."
- 2012 became a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
- Over the years giving numerous presentations for different groups of people on many genealogical topics.
- I am a perpetual student (veracious reader) of current and past genealogical articles and case studies in the pursuit of continuing my genealogical education.
- Currently helping to index FamilySearch.org records.
